The Holy Spirit Will Nudge Us

August 24, 2011 by Brad Murphy

The Holy Spirit Will Nudge Us

Have you ever wondered about the will of God for your life?  I suppose all of us have, at one time or another.  How do we know if we are in His will?  How do we know if we are pleasing Him in what we are doing?  It’s really quite simple.  If we have given our lives over to the Lord, if we have asked Him to forgive us in the name of Jesus, then we are children of God.  All good parents want the best for their children and will encourage them to make wise and good choices.  God, our heavenly Father, is no different.  As we make choices in our lives, the Holy Spirit will nudge us when necessary, just as our Mother or father would have done to us.  Remember when you were planning on doing something and Mom said, “I don’t think that’s wise.”  I know, it happened to me on many occasions.  In the same way the Holy Spirit will nudge us and try to keep us from doing something wrong.  He will encourage us to make those life-changing decision that will be the best for us.  As we allow Him to speak into our lives as His children, His Spirit will speak into our lives and help us live as He desires.  It’s really no big deal to know what God’s will is; we just have to pay attention to Him.

The Bible is a true “Miracle Book!”

May 26, 2011 by Brad Murphy

The Bible is a true “Miracle Book!”

We know that this book is God’s love letter to mankind.  It is the deepest and most extensive revelation from God to man that has ever been written.  Nothing further is needed.  The Bible is the complete, revealed Word of God for this world.  Just a few facts are worth mentioning, because they are so astounding!  The Bible is composed of 66 books.  The earliest of these books could have been written about 2,000 years before Christ, but we know for sure the Bible has books written about 1,500 years before Christ.  The last book was written about 100 years after Christ.  So, the entire writing of the Bible takes place during a period that could approach 2,000 years.  About 43 different authors wrote these 66 books.  In spite of the span between the first written book and the last; in spite of 43 different people writing these books; there are no conflicts at all.  There are some differences in detail, but no conflicts!  How can this be?  Simply put, God anointed the authors to write what He wanted in each book.  The authors were obedient to what the Holy Spirit of God was impressing upon them; and the result is available to all.  The next time you use the Bible, just lovingly run your fingers along its edge, and wonder about the miracle you are holding in your hands!
