Today is your day for breakthrough.

Week 3 Breakthrough

“Breakthrough” is one of the most powerful words; whatever was strong enough to stop you initially, has been defeated!

Hopelessness, abuse, fear, anxiety, grief, pain… you name it, God offers HIS power to help us breakthrough.

In this message, we learn how God helps us break through fear. When the disciples were locked up after the crucifixion, the resurrected Jesus entered the room and brought them peace. Are you ready to receive peace for your fear?

But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Matthew 19:26 (ESV)

Breakthrough Fear

John 20:19-23; Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:14-20; Luke 24:36-49

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”

John 20:19 (emphasis added, ESV)
  1. Why are you afraid? (John 20:19a, Proverbs 29:25)
  2. Peace be with you! (John 20:19b-21a)
  3. Go with peace (John 20:21b-23, Hebrews 13:5-6)

So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

Hebrews 13:6 (ESV)

reBUILD in the Face of Fear

March 18, 2016 by Brad Murphy

Fear can be crippling. If the enemy of your soul can cause you to live in a spirit of fear, then he will be able to stop you from reBUILDING your faith, your heart, your marriage, your family, or your community.

There are three typical responses to fear:

  • Flight
  • Fight
  • Freeze

In today’s message from Nehemiah 6:5-14, we learn a Godly approach for handling public & private attacks of fear.

Fool’s Fear, Wisemen Worship Pt.1

Christmas time can often be a time of fear.  If fear has it’s way it could kill your Christmas.  Scripture says that, “Perfect Love, casts out all fear.”

Fool’s Fear

  • Social fear will cause us to become busy and overworked as you try to keep everyone happy and attend all the parties.
  • Economic fear will cause us to become materialistic as we strive to keep up with the Jones’s.
  • Fear of past hurts will cause us to become bitter, lonely, and grieving during this season of great joy for all people.
  • Fear of losing control will cause us miss Jesus, as Christmas turns into a holiday all about ME.

Be encouraged to keep Christ alive this Christmas, and avoid letting paranoid fear make it a not-so-great Christmas.

Next Sunday, Wisemen Worship.  We will finish this 2-part lesson, with the other side of this story.

Courageous Faith Comes from Surrender to God’s Care

Like a soldier on the battlefield, the courage to stay in the battle and fight for the mission, comes from surrender to the care and orders of your commanding officer.  On this Veterans Day weekend we start our newest sermon series, That Christmas Feeling, with the topic Courageous Faith.

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.”
– Luke 1:38 | NIV

Courageous Faith:

  1. Starts with Fear,
  2. Grows with Revelation, and
  3. Culminates with Surrender to God’s Care

Overcome fear, hunger for revelation, and rest in surrender to Jesus through the inspiration of this message.
