Peace Come

December 3, 2023 by Brad Murphy

This sermon is part 2 of 5 in the Christmas Come 2023

Today @EagleLifeChurch, we continue our advent sermon series, “Christmas Come.”

You will learn the powerful prophecies from before the birth of Christ that foretold the hope, peace, joy, and love that He would bring. Before the appearance of Emmanuel, God’s people longed for the Messiah to come. Although we are 2000 years after Advent, many still long for the hope, peace, joy, and love of Christmas to come into their lives and families.

In today’s message, we learn about the prophecies of coming peace and how Jesus fulfilled God’s promise to give us peace.

Way Maker

November 26, 2023 by Guest Speaker

This sermon is part 1 of 5 in the Christmas Come 2023

Today @EagleLifeChurch, we begin our advent sermon series, “Christmas Come.”

In today’s message, we learn God’s power to bring hope to hopeless situations. Through four powerful testimonies from the ladies of the Twin Falls Women’s Center, you will learn that God is a way maker.

Scripture: Matthew 2:1-12; Luke 2:22-38

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” 3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him; 4 and assembling all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. 5 They told him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet:

6 “‘And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
    are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for from you shall come a ruler
who will shepherd my people Israel.’”

The Gift of Jesus

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

John 3:14-18

Main Ideas

  2. So Loved the World
  3. That He Gave

[F]or my eyes have seen your salvation 31 that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.
