Week 4 “The Facets of Christmas”
Like the way our Creator uniquely forms each snowflake, He is forming unique facets within each of us. He is working deep in our souls to build the structure and strength that will be used in our unique purpose in life. Through the characters of the Christmas Story, we will uncover the variety of God’s grace for the rich and poor, male and female, and all the variety of unique personalities among all of humanity.
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:
1 Peter 4:10 (ESV), emphasis added
In today’s message, you will learn how God uniquely interacts with the Wisemen to draw them into knowledge of His salvation for all the world. This is contrasted with Herod, who God uses to expose the corruption of this world and our need for salvation. Through the facets of Wisdom and Power, God exposes the evil that is in each heart and how we can find forgiveness for our sins.

The Facets of Wisdom & Power
God thunders wondrously with his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend. For to the snow he says, ‘Fall on the earth,’ likewise to the downpour, his mighty downpour… They turn around and around by his guidance, to accomplish all that he commands them on the face of the habitable world. Whether for correction or for his land or for love, he causes it to happen.

For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
