Six Keys to Communication at Eagle LifeChurch

If you are interested in being a Volunteer at Eagle LifeChurch this page is a helpful resource on six important areas of communication. I have included a couple of EXERCISES for each topic to help you put into practice what you have learned

This information was presented as the outline for an all church Volunteer Training Lunch On April 7, 2019!

Almost 40 volunteers attended the event, enjoyed a catered lunch from Panda Express, and learned about six important areas of communication at Eagle LifeChurch.

I hope these six-keys of communication helps you have a great experience at Eagle LifeChurch.

1. Communicate the Vision:

EXERCISE #1 | Pray for God to accomplish three of the Vision Items on the website, https://eaglelifechurch.org/about/imagine2020/
EXERCISE #2 | Bookmark www.EagleLifeChurch.org on your phone.

2. Communicate with Your Leader:

EXERCISE #1 | Install the “Planning Center SERVICES” app on your phone. Available for Android, Apple, and Kindle.
EXERCISE #2 | Register BLOCK OUT dates for a coming vacation at http://planning.center or in the app.

3. Communicate with Each Other:

EXERCISE #1 | Bookmark the church directory on your computer or phone, https://churchteams.com/m/Login.asp?oID=11895&page=DirectoryListingReport.asp
EXERCISE #2 | Use the online directory to EMAIL or CALL someone you haven’t seen at church in a few weeks. Use the Password provided by the office, or text the word ME to 208-352-6002.

4. Communicate with the Office:

EXERCISE #1 | Save the phone number 208-352-6002 in your phone as the “Eagle LifeChurch Texting” number.
EXERCISE #2 | Text the word GIVE to 208-352-6002, and set up your online giving using a “BANK ACCOUNT.”

5. Communicate with Social Media:

EXERCISE #1 | Follow @EagleLifeChurch on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Comment on a recent post or picture.
EXERCISE #2 | Join the elc.prayer group on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/elc.prayer/

6. Communicate with God:

EXERCISE #1 | Set a reminder or alarm on your phone to pray for our Eagle LifeChurch every week.
EXERCISE #2 | Pray for three people you know that need to start a new relationship with Jesus.

Communication is an important part of what ministry and community is all about. Our Vision of helping people experience Jesus in a life-changing way will flourish in an environment of healthy communication.

2018 21-Days of Prayer & Fasting – IMAGINE|2O2O

Join us for 21 Days of focused prayer and fasting as we embark on our Imagine|2020 Vision of “Helping People Experience Jesus in a Life-Changing Way.” Daily prayer reminders will be sent to your inbox for each day you sign up to pray & fast.

We are seeking God in faith for our families, our community, and our church.

January 1-21

Over the next four Sundays, we will be laying out a three year vision called IMAGINE|2O2O “Helping People Experience Jesus in a Life-Changing Way,” culminating with the IMAGINE|2O2O shared lunch on January 21.

December 31 | Prayer & Fasting
January 7 | Helping People
January 14 | Experience Jesus
January 21 | Life-Changing Way & Shared Lunch

We encourage you to sign up for 1, 3, 7, or all 21 days of prayer and fasting. Usually fasting relates to food, but you may also want to fast other things that take time in your day and instead, turn that time to prayer. Because 21 days is a long time and requires great discipline and physical health to fast all food for that length of time, we encourage you to consult with your doctor before embarking on such a total fast. Some choose to fast one meal or two instead.

Shift | Into A Higher Gear

One year from now, our oldest daughter, Naomi, will be eligible for her driver’s training permit. I’m not sure how to prepare for that moment.

I thought I’d start with teaching her what I do when I drive. So recently, I’ve been talking out loud through all the decisions I make while driving in our five-speed Kia Spectra.

One of the lessons we’ve been talking about is knowing when to shift. You can hear it as the engine roars. You can see it as the landscape passes by. As the car is accelerating, it’s important that you are ready, at just the right moment, to shift into a higher gear. If you shift early you lose momentum and if you shift too late you could blow the engine and come to a stop.

Eagle LifeChurch has begun to accelerate. There is a freshness of Spirit, a newness of joy, and a growing sense of life and light that is present in our gatherings. You can see it in our Children’s Ministry. You can hear it in our worship. We are pulling away from the place of rest and moving forward.

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the dessert. – Isaiah 43:19

Just like in our five-speed Spectra, if you aren’t prepared for the shift, you might get jerked around in the car. I want the ride to be comfortable, but it isn’t always easy.

I’m asking you to pray with me for our shift into a higher gear. If we shift too early we’ll lose momentum, if we shift too late we could blow the engine.

Pray that God will give us wisdom on how to develop, how to spend resources, and when and what to shift as we accelerate. Pray that God will unite us in mission and strategy as we mature. We need children’s workers, we need hospitality team members, we need LifeGroup leaders, we need youth workers, we will need a board member this winter, and there are other needs that will come up that we may not anticipate.

Please pray that God will give us workers, miracles, healing, and strength. Pray that God will build and accelerate His church, so that we do not labor in vain.
