Infuse | Patience

Kindness | Compassion in Action

This week Pastor Brad discusses the big idea, Kindness is Compassion in Action. Jesus Christ demonstrated his kindness toward us, not only with words and understanding, but in action. In the same way, we demonstrate kindness, because Christ’s Spirit in us causes us to bear this fruit.

Kindness is willing to take compassionate action
Kindness is willing to take a risk
Kindness is willing to put other first
Kindness is willing to pay the price
Kindness is willing to finish what it starts
Kindness is willing to glorify God

On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

“What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”

He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

Infusion vs. Transfusion

How can we have peace with God and with others? By welcoming the salvation of God and experiencing the reconciliation offered in Christ. This weeks big idea, A Peace Infusion From a Sin Transfusion reminds us that Jesus Christ, the one who knew no sin, became sin for us. God transfused our sin upon Himself so that he could infuse his peace unto us.

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
– 2 Corinthians 5:21

That great exchange, brings peace to the weary, hope to the worn down, and life to the complacent.

Are quotes like this an excuse to be grumpy Christ followers. I think so.

“I don’t have to be happy right now, but I have the joy of God.” Really?

Aren’t joyful people happy? Isn’t that why you say they are joyful?

You can be one of those people.
